PURPOSE:To dissolve the difference of positive and negative polarities of a dynamic range by applying a sampled analog signal to polarity conversion, setting the polarity converting information as a code bit of a digital signal, A/D and D/A-converting the analog signal whose polarity is converted, and bringing this output to polarity reverse conversion by the code bit. CONSTITUTION:In an A/D converting circuit diagram (a), this circuit is constituted of an S/H circuit 1 for sampling and holding an analog signal which is supplied to an input terminal, a converting circuit (hereinbelow, called an encoder) 2 for applying the sampled analog signal to polarity conversion of positive or negative, and outputting its analog signal and the polarity information, and an A/D converting circuit 3 for converting an analog signal of only a position polarity, which has been outputted by this encoder 2, to a digital signal. The digital signal and a code bit are made to pass through a transmitting medium, or recorded in a recording medium. The digital signal which is picked up from said transmitting medium or recording medium, and the code bit are demodulated to the original analog signal by a D/A converting circuit shown in a figure (b). Therefore, when applying the A/D and D/A conversions, the polarity information is provided as the code bit, and the previous bit is assigned to a positive or negative signal and converted, therefore, the resolution is obtained by one bit portion more.
