PURPOSE:To simplify the equipment by arranging the upper and lower pressure joining rolls to form unevenness on the roll surface and by passing the overlapped part of rolled stock. CONSTITUTION:The upper and lower pressure joining rolls3, 4 are composed of a caliber roll and the projecting part 3a of the upper roll 3 and the recessed part 4a of the lower roll 4 are opposed so as to engage each other. The rear end part of the preceding rolling stock 1 is cut by a shear 5 and in succession the tip part of the succeeding rolling stock 2 is cut. The rolling stocks 1, 2 are passed between the following upper and lower rolling rolls 3, 4 by placing the tip part of the succeeding rolled stock 2 on the rear end part of the preceding rolling stock 1 via a cylinder 7. The overlapped face P of the rolling stocks 1, 2 is formed in uneven shape and by the enlargement of the surface area the scale thickness of the lapped face P is reduced. The good joining of the rolling stocks 1, 2 is enabled therefore. A separate descaling device becomes disused with this method and the equipment is simplified. |
