PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a bracket for supporting a sensor as well as a countermeasure against possible refrigerant leakage, by arranging a revolutions detecting section comprising a rotor detecting section and a sensor detector section at a portion on the inner surface side from the bearing layout position. CONSTITUTION:As a exciting coil 6 is energized, a magnetic circuit is formed between a stator yoke 14, an input rotor 5 and a rotary disc 18 to attract the disc 18 on the rotor 5. The rotating force from a driving source enters from a drive belt 4 to be transmitted to a rotating shaft 2 via the rotor 5, the disc 18 and an output rotor 3. Then, the revolutions are detected with a revolutions detecting section 21 comprising the end face of a hub 11 on the inner surface side of a bearing 12 and a rotary sensor 7. In this manner, a revolutions detector for a compressor is arranged inside a bearing layout position of an electromagnetic clutch thereby eliminating any bracket and there is no detector section provided inside the compressor thereby eliminating any counter-measure against possible refrigerant leakage.
