Molecular weight, 1,166 (by FD-MS); molecular formula, C60H82N2O21; melting point, 190-200 deg.C; solubility, insoluble in water and hexane, soluble in methanol, ethyl acetate and chloroform; basic yellow substance; elemental analysis (%), C 61.82, H 7.01, N 2.43, O 28.74. EXAMPLE:Cosmocarcin B of formula IV. USE:Antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A microbial strain such as Streptomyces cosmosus FERM P-7074 (AJ 9450), etc., is cultured under aerobic condition, preferably at 4.0-9.0pH and 15-40 deg.C.
