PURPOSE:To make substitutive processing of a CPU by other CPU by detecting abnormality of an inputting/outputting device to which each CPU of plural CPU is connected, and making a CPU that detected abnormality inform another CPU of occurence of abnormality. CONSTITUTION:When CPU1 and CPU2 do not detect abnormality of a counter circuit 10 and an ignition circuit 28 connected in subsequent stage, check ports CP1, CP2 are switched to an input mode. When abnormality is detected, the check port CP1 is switched to an output mode, and at the same time, a transistor TR1 is made conductive. When abnormality of the ignition circuit 28 is not detected by a CPU 2, the check port CP2 remains in the input mode. When the level of the check port of normal side CPU which is made to input mode changed from H level to L level, it is judged that abnormality occurred in one CPU side, and a reset signal is outputted to the CPU of abnormal side to reset its operation, and at the same time, the substitutive processing of CPU of abnormality side is executed.
