PURPOSE:To use roll paper without generation of any obstacle for recording either by generating slack in the roll paper through releasing of energization in interlocking with the cutting action of a cutter or by moving the cutter at the same speed as that of roll paper. CONSTITUTION:If the end of a recorded piece, i.e. the cut point of roll paper, has come to the latent image forming part P of a selenium drum 6 when the roll paper 13 is in a condition as pulled fully in the A direction, a plunger magnet 19 is energized to retract a buffer roller 15 in the B direction, and at the same time a cuter 14 is driven to cut the roll paper 13. This retraction of the roller 15 causes slack in the roll paper 13, which works as buffer and hinders generation of tension at the selenium drum 6 and cutter 14 even though the selenium drum 6 continues rotating. The latent image in P is in coincidence with the cutting point of roll paper 13 at a transcription part P' because the length from the latent image forming part P on the selenium drum 6 to P' is the same as the distance between P' and cutter 14 via the roller 15.
