PURPOSE:To enhance transferrability of a thermal transfer ink layer onto a polyester film, by incorporating a metallic salt of an organic sulfonic acid and/or a metallic salt of an organic phosphoric acid into a polyester film. CONSTITUTION:The metallic salt of an organic sulfonic acid or the metallic salt of an organic phosphoric acid may be any of those which are ordinarily used as surfactants or antistatic agents, and the content thereof in the polyester film is preferably 0.1-3wt%. If the content is less than 0.05wt%, the thermal transfer ink layer will not be transferred, whereas if the content is more than 5wt%, a lowering in the producibility of the polyester film, transparency of the film, mechanical properties of the film or handlability of the film results. The polyester film can be used in a thickness of 5-300mum. |
