PURPOSE:To obtain the titled lubricant capable of remakably improving the lubricating properties of a lubricating film in a high degree of working at a high temp. under a high pressure and providing an excellent working performance in cold working, by mixing a phosphorus-containing compound with a lubricating oil and keeping the mixture in a water-free form. CONSTITUTION:The titled lubricant is obtained by mixing a phosphorus- containing compound with a lubricating oil and keeping the mixture in a water- free form. The phosphorus-containing compound to be used includes a phosphoric acid monoester of the formula (wherein R is an alkyl, an alkylalkenyl or aryl). The addition of at least one member selected from among fatty acids, fatty acid amides and metal soaps to the phosphoric acid monoester promotes the formation of a film of the phosphoric acid monoester, leading to a further improvement in lubricating performance, which contributes to a high degree of working performance. When the plastic working is conducted at a high temp. exceeding about 350 deg.C, the lubricant may be incorporated with a solid lubricant such as graphite or boron nitride as a lubricity imparting agent. |
