PURPOSE:To elongate the life of a belt under the high load and temperature requirement by constituting teeth such that the relationship between their height h and length l is represented by h/l=0.15-0.35 and the rubber hardness is 65- 75 deg., while laminating a buffer rubber layer between a tensile body layer and the teeth. CONSTITUTION:A toothed belt 1 comprises a belt base band 5 formed of a back rubber layer 2, a tensile body layer 3 and a buffer rubber layer 4 sequentially laminated, teeth 6 arranged on said band 5 and a sail cloth layer 7 overlaid on the teeth 6. Since the tooth rubber constituting the teeth 6 is relatively soft, the elasticity of the rubber can be maintained for a long time, and since the height of the teeth 6 is small to the width of same, the deformation of the teeth 6 may be relatively small. Also, since the buffer rubber layer 4 is interposed between the tensile body layer 3 and the sail cloth layer 7, even when valley portions 8 between the teeth 6, 6 are pushed up by crest portions 12 of the toothed pulley in the use under the high load condition, the pushing-up force is effectively attenuated by the compressive deformation of the buffer rubber layer 4. As a result, this toothed belt can be used for a long time even under the high temperature and load condition. |
