PURPOSE:To discriminate the fitting condition and the disconnection of a cable when the sensitivity of an AE sensor is set by comparing a difference between an output level when a variable amplitude ratio amplifier is set to a maximum sensitivity and that of the acoustic emission (AE) sensor when the drive level of a spurious breakage signal generator is raised. CONSTITUTION:The AE sensor 6 is installed in the vicinity of a tool, detects an AE signal from the tool and that from the spurious breakage signal generator 4, and gives them to an AE signal processing part 7. It amplifies the signal at the prescribed level, and simultaneously gives the breakage of the tool and an abnormal cutting signal to a CPU 9. It compares a difference between the output level of the AE sensor 6 available from setting the variable amplitude ratio amplifier of the processing part 7 to the maximum sensitivity and that available from raising the drive level of the generator 4 with the prescribed level, discriminates abnormarities of the generator 4 and the sensor 6 on the basis of the output and displays 13 them. |
