PURPOSE:To simplify the construction and to improve the durability of a sorting device installed in the middle of a straight advance belt conveyer by disposing a sorting belt conveyer capable of turning in the horizontal direction between straight advance conveyers, thereby to obliquely distribute an article. CONSTITUTION:When an article conveyed in direction of an arrow P on a straight advance belt conveyer 1 is transferred onto a sorting belt conveyer 2, if the article is discharged to the upper left along the sorting direction, the sorting belt conveyer 2 is turned counter-clockwise through an operating device not shown to match with the upper left discharge sheet 6a. Subsequently, the belt conveyer 2 is driven to discharge the article in direction of an arrow L. This arrangement can simplify the construction and improve the durability.
