PURPOSE:To prevent a gap from being formed between printing widths of printing lines due to an error in feeding a printing paper, by a construction wherein the pitch (p) of printing elements is so set that p=p0+ or -alpha (alpha: a positive variable), wherein p0 is a theoretical pitch determined by a one-line amount of paper feed. CONSTITUTION:The paper feed quantity is determined on the assumption that the dot pitch is p0. Namely, the distance between the centers of both end dots is W0=(n-1)p0, and the feed quantity is np0. Wire dots are constucted on the basis of the actual pitch p of p=p0+ or -alpha. Therefore, the actual distance W between the centers of both end dots is (n-1)p=(n-1)(p0+ or -alpha)=W0+ or -(n-1)alpha. Namely, Wnot equal to W0, and the printing width L determined by the dot diameter is also varied depending on the inequality. Accordingly, by appropriately selecting the value of alpha, the paper feed quantity F determined by taking the feed quantity errors into consideration can be set to be smaller than the printing width L, the spacing (x) between dots in adjacent printing lines is smaller than the pitch (p), and the printing lines overlap on each other by a length S. |
