The load-bearing frame of the building is made up of an assembly of portal frames 1.1 to 1.2n-1 the height of which is variable so that the envelope of their beams 4 defines at least one roof slope. The beam 4 and the columns 2, 3 of each portal frame 1 consist of two timber booms joined together by a corrugated metal sheet web. Each portal frame 1 comprises a gusset plate 9 for connecting the head of each column 2, 3 to the corresponding beam 4 and a pinned joint 22, 23 for connecting the foot of the column to the foundation. The beams of the portal frames are directly joined together by self-supporting metal roofing troughs 49 and the columns are joined together by rails 36 to which self-supporting metal facade troughs 52 are fixed. <IMAGE>
