<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a water-dilatable water-stopping material for applying to the joint of concrete, by forming a film which is insoluble in neutral water and soluble at least partly in the alkaline water of the ready-mixed concrete, on the surface of a formed article made of a water-dilatable material, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective water-stopping material can be produced by coating the surface of (A) a formed article made of a water-dilatable material or a mixture of a water-dilatable material and indilatable material (preferably chlorinated polyethylene, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber, etc.) with (B) a film made of a substance insoluble in neutral water and soluble in alkali (preferably a polymer electrolyte such as maleic anhydride copolymer, etc.). EFFECT:The dilation of the material with water and rain is prevented before work, and the water-permeability is developed only by the alkali of placed concrete to start the dilation of the water-stopping material.</p> |
