METHOD FOR TREATING SURFACE OF POLYPROPYLENE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To improve surface properties such as adhesion, coatability and printability inexpensively by relatively simple operation, by subjecting a polypropylene resin compsn. contg. an inorg. powder to a corona discharge treatment at a temp. not lower than the m.p. of the polypropylene resin in an atmosphere contg. a specified oxygen content. CONSTITUTION:A polypropylene resin compsn. contg. an inorg. powder such as titanium oxide, talc or calcium carbonate (pref. 0.5-60wt%) is subjected to a corona discharge treatment at a temp. not lower than the m.p. of the polypropylene resin in an atmosphere contg. not more than 40vol% oxygen. An atmosphere contg. carbon dioxide gas or dinitrogen oxide gas in the corona discharge is preferred.
