PURPOSE:To obtain a keyboard controller that can deal with various kinds of key matrix circuits by constituting a repeat table of a memory that can be rewritten and at the same time, giving a repeat control command to a keyboard controlling section and writing repeat controlling information on the repeat table. CONSTITUTION:A repeat table 5 constituted of a memory that can be rewritten such as an RAM, etc. is provided, and a keyboard controlling section 2 performs repeat control of key code outputted to the body of a computer 3. A keyboard controller is constituted of a chip microcomputer, and includes the keyboard controlling section 2 and repeat table 5. Repeat controlling information RP is written on the repeat table 5 by giving repeat control command from the body of computer 3 to the keyboard controlling section 2.
