PURPOSE:To offer an optical pickup applying accurate focus control or tracking control by adopting the constitution that a support in the tracking direction of a suppot member of an objective lens is arranged on a tracking drive axis line of a tracking drive coil. CONSTITUTION:A fulcrum of a suspension 3 supporting a support member 2 of an objective lens 1 of an optical pickup for recording and reproducing an optical disc or the like is arranged on a line the same ass a tracking drice axis line 11 of a tracking device coil 8 and the 1st counter balance 13 is fixed on the axial line 11 to keep the horizontal balance around the optical axis 12 of the lens 1. On the other hand, the 2nd counter balance 14 is provided to the coil 8 to harmonize the vertical balance around the axial line 11 for the focus drive coil 6 or the like and the 3rd counter balance 15 is provided symmetrically to the balance 14 to harmonize the horizontal balance around the optica axis 18 together with the balance 14. Thus, the pickup 10 controllable in the tracking and focus direction with high accuracy is offered.
