A device is described, by means of which a liquid can be transferred from one container to another, for example fuel from a metal barrel into the petrol tank of a motor vehicle. The device includes a basic body which has an initial through bore, in which a tubular piece is inserted, and a further through bore with a tubular piece which is connected to a container which contains a pressurised gas. The basic body can be connected in a sealed manner to the screw thread of a metal barrel by means of an outer screw thread. When a propellent flows into the barrel, the liquid contained in the latter is expressed and can be transferred in this fashion to any other container.
