An electrical level warning device for fluids. The upper float rod (12) has a contact disc (18) which is acted on from above by a spring (23) and is pressed against the contact tabs (26, 27) by the lifting force of the float (15). The contact disc (18) is mounted in an annular groove (17) whose width is greater than the thickness of the contact disc (18). When the float (15) sinks down, the contact disc (18) remains in contact with the contact tabs (26, 27) until the contact disc (18) is moved downwards by the second stop (19). If any vibration acts on the fluid, incorrect warnings are also prevented by the compensation arrangement (23, 18 and 17) when the fluid level is arranged slightly above the minimum filling level. <IMAGE>
