PURPOSE:To extract a plane intersecting line with respect to a free curved surface as well by storing a plane normal vector as an intersecting line coordi nate if the plane normal vector is zero in a memory, setting a next scanning line until all plane of the first curved surface is completed, and detecting the first and the second plane intersecting lines. CONSTITUTION:While considering two curved surfaces 4A and 4B, for instance, a start scanning line 7 (7A, 7B, ...) having a start point of SSP on a boundary line on the curved surface 4B is set and a point on the curved surface 4B is parameter interpolated. With respect to the point on the curved surface 4B, a plane normal vector from the curved surface 4A is calculated, and whether the largeness of the vector is zero or not is judged. If it is not zero, while conforming to the largeness of the vector, the point on the curved surface 4B is moved along the scanning line 7 to perform a similar processing. If the largeness of the vector is zero, it is stored in a memory as an intersecting line coordinate and it is judged whether all the surface of the curved surface 4B is completed to be processed.
