A lamp (1) with a housing (2) and at least one electrically operated light source (3), for example a fluorescent tube, is provided for permanent installation on a ceiling, wall, carrier or the like. Mounted directly on the lamp (1) and integrated in an opening (7) of the housing (2) is a sensor (8) which serves the purpose of measuring the ambient light quantity and/or ambient illuminance in the region of this lamp (1) and switches the latter off in the case of strong ambient light but also switches it on when the ambient light is too weak. The wires and switch parts of this sensor (8) for actuating the light source (3) of the lamp (1) are also accommodated in the housing (2) of this lamp (1). <IMAGE>
