PURPOSE:To cast continuously an ingot having a good casting surface by applying the oscillation having the component in parallel with the advancing direction to belts which move in order to form the ingot side wall surface of a casting mold. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal 5 is poured from a tundish 4 into the casting mold 2 and motors 8 are operated to move the belts 1 in the direction of an arrow B in synchronization with the ingot drawing speed to draw the ingot 7 out of the mold 2, by which the molten metal is continuously cast. A motor 18 is operated simultaneously with the operation of the motors 8 in this stage to oscillate respectively vertically guide rolls 11, 12 so that the belts 1 move in the ingot drawing out direction while oscillating vertically only at the belt parts 1a. The belts are smoothly operated in the above-mentioned manner while the movement thereof is not hindered by stationary side plates. The smooth drawing out of the ingot without seizure to the belts is thus made possible. |
