PURPOSE:To improve the joining strength of rolling stocks by spraying pressure dry powder on the overlapping surfaces of respective stocks to be joined together. CONSTITUTION:A shearing device, a descaling device, an overlapping device and a pressure welding device are arranged in sequence on a hot rolling line for transporting rolling steel-stocks 1, 2. The descalling device is constituted of a pair of the headers 8 and nozzles 9 provided respetively to the upper and lower sides of a rolling path. The stocks 1, 2 are cut by the shear and sent to the descaling device, and pressure dry iron-powder 10 is sprayed on the overlapping surface 1a of stock 1 from the nozzles 9. The iron powder 10 is sprayed on the overlapping surface 2a of stock 2 in the same manner. Next, the surface 1a and the surface 2a are overlapped and pressure welded together, and are rolled by a finishing mill. In this way, the scales on the surfaces 1a, 2a are perfectly removed, and the joining strength between the stocks 1, 2 is improved.
