PURPOSE:To provide the titled derivative having low toxicity, composed of a fibrinogen and/or fibrin of an animal heterologous to the host animal containing activated macrophage and capable of inducing the production of a tumor necrosis factor from said macrophage. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent for inducing the production of tumor necrosis factor (abbreviated as TNF) is composed of a fibrinogen and/or fibrin of an animal which is heterologous to a host animal containing activated macrophage. The TNF is an antitumor protein having a molecular weight of about 40,000, and is produced from macrophage by sensitizing an animal such as mouse, rabbit, etc. with a primary stimulant (e.g. BCG) and then administering a secondary stimulant such as lipopolysaccharide, etc. to the animal, however, the conventional secondary stimulants have large side effects. Fibrinogen and fibrin can be obtained directly from the animal body containing the same, and can be used as a TNF-production-inducing agent having extremely high safety. |
