<p>PURPOSE:To conduct the check of a tape drive system in a tape running state with a simple and sure method by giving a load set optionally to a supply reel of a cassette mechanism to detect the rate of change in a tape speed be tween the minimum load and the maximum load. CONSTITUTION:A tape cassette 1 is loaded on a cassette mechanism 10 to be checked, a motor 5 is driven reversely by a drive circuit 11 so that the total load of a head is a minimum load, an electromagnetic brake is applied, and the tape speed in this case is measured by detecting a specific frequency recorded on a magnetic tape of the cassette 1 by a detection circuit 12A. Similar ly, the tape speed at maximum load is measured by a detection circuit 12B. The rate of change in the tape speed at the minimum load and at the maximum load is detected by an operation circuit 13 to discriminate the propriety of the tape drive system.</p> |
