PURPOSE:To enable the straightness of a transfer path to be maintained with high accuracy by providing on a transfer body a slide member contacting a guide surface of a fixed member and a fine displacement means to operate the fine displacement means on the basis of the output of a straightness detecting means for detecting the straightness of the transfer path of the transfer body. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving position of a position detecting photoelectric element 20 corresponding to the reference position of a column 8 transferred on a bed is detected and memorized. Next, the column 8 is transferred to detect the change in the light receiving position of said element 20 and obtain the difference. Also, to correct the displacement of the column 8 caused by a fine displacement means 7, a calculating circuit 40 receiving the output of a detecting circuit 23 calculates first the transferring amount and direction of of a movable wedge 32 on the basis of the signal of said element 20 together with the displacement of the element 20 to apply them to a control circuit 41. Further, the control circuit 41 rotates a motor 33 on the basis of the command of the calculating circuit 40 to transfer the movable wedge 32 so that the column 8 is vertically transferred by the relative transfer of a fixed wedge 35. Thus, the wedge 32 is transferred according to the output of said element 20 so that the straightness of a transfer path of the column 8 can be corrected.
