PURPOSE:To better vertical correlativity, to reduce pseudo chrominance signals and to improve its reproduced picture quality by utilizing color difference line sequential signals of odd-number field and even-number field and especially by generating color difference signals for synchronizing by arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:In synchronization of color difference signals of odd-number fields and in arithmetic of color difference signals, for instance, in the case of reproducing (n+1) lines, intermittent color difference signals are (R-Y)n+1. Color difference signals (R-Y)m of even-number fields of m lines and n+2 lines shown by the direction of arrow mark 15 are delayed by 1.5H and synchro nized with color difference signals (R-Y)n+2 of odd-number fields. To make this operation, a 1H delay line 230 and an H/2 delay line 240 are connected in series to the output terminal 2b of a multiplexer 70, and color difference signals (R-Y)m of even-number fields are delayed by 1.5H and outputted to an arithmetic unit 270. The arithmetic unit 270 inputs color difference signals (R-Y)n+2 from the output terminal 1b of the multiplexer 70 at the same time and makes arithmetic, and outputs output Odd (B) to an FiO terminal.
