PURPOSE:To obtain a light weight ornamental building material excellent in impact resistance by a method wherein rigid synthetic resin plates pigmented in various colors are cut in proper shapes and arranged in a frame under the state that joining allowances are formed and finally the joining allowances are filled with pigmented bonding agent in order to form the single sheet of a plate. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, shapes 2, into which stocks are cut, and joining allowances 3 are designed on the pattern paper 1 of an ornamental building material. After that, various colors are applied to the shapes 2 in order to condition color as a whole. Rigid synthetic resin plates with desired color and favorable natural lighting property are cut in various shapes in order to be arranged in a rectangular frame 4 under the state that joining allowances 3 are formed. Pigmented bonding agent 5 consisting in mixing epoxy resin, cement and black pigment with one another is filled in the joining allowances 3. After being dried, the ornamental building material in the single sheet of a plate is removed from the frame 4. Further, the ornamental building material may also preferably be manufactured by pasting colored stock plates by pigmented bonding agent 5 onto a reinforcing sheet 6 made of acrylic plate or the like placed onto the frame 4. |
