PURPOSE:To enable to provide a printing without 'thin spot' and 'chipping' capable of being satisfactorily automatically recognized, by respectively providing printing surfaces carrying out marking along each curved surface to be marked. CONSTITUTION:A table 8 provided on X, Y tables 5, 3 is set so that a printing surface comes along a portion to be marked on a panel portion 2 by being rotated by betadegrees. The center positions of respective digits to be marked are determined as C1 thru C7 on the surface of the panel 2. For instance, when the positions C1 and C6 are to be marked by character rings 13L and 13R on the right and left sides thereof, the center of a character ring unit 13 is set at the position X1 on an X-X' axis. The tips of the printing face respectively arranged on the tips of the right and left character rings are adjusted by rotating the beta table 8 by a fixed degrees in order to establish the same gaps against the surface of the panel 2. Simultaneously, the character ring 13 is rotated to select the desired mark, and located opposedly at right angle to the panel 2 with applying ink to the mark. When beta table is rotated, the X table 5 is shifted to set the center of the character ring unit at the position X1. After that, the Y table 3 is advanced a given distance so as to mark at the positions C1, C6.
