PRODUCTION OF POLYMER HAVING HIGH ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer having high electrical conductivity and excellent stability and strength, by dissolving a 5-membered heterocyclic compound in an aqueous solution of electrolyte containing an aromatic sulfonic acid salt having a low molecular weight at a specific concentration and imposing a low standard potential to the solution. CONSTITUTION:A 5-membered heterocyclic compound (preferably pyrrole) or its derivative is dissolved or dispersed in an aqueous solution of electrolyte (preferably >=0.2mol/l in concentration) containing 0.4-5.0mol/l of a (substituted) aromatic sulfonic acid salt (preferably p-toluenesulfonic acid alkali metal salt or m-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid alkali metal salt) having a molecular weight of <=300. A standard potential of <1.0V, preferably <=0.8V is imposed to the solution or dispersion to obtain the objective polymer.
