PURPOSE:To increase the yield of a positive mixture by producing it by molding a powder of a mixture with a moisture content of within a specific range which is prepared by adding an aqueous alkaline solution to a mixture principally composed of a positive depolarizer and a conductive agent. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous alkaline solution is added to a mixture principally composed of a positive depolarizer such as MnO2 and a conductive material such as flake graphite to prepare a mixture with a moisture content of 2-5wt%. Next, this mixture is compressed and molded and then the molded mixture is pulverized and sieved to obtain a powder of a given particle size. After that, the thus obtained powder is compressed and molded into a given shape, thereby manufacturing a positive mixture. The above restriction of the moisture content of the mixture improves the yield of the resulting powder obtained after sieving without deteriorating the moldability of the powder during compression molding. Furthermore, improved moldability of the powder results in an increase in the amount of the positive mixture thereby achieving improved discharge performance. |
