PURPOSE:To make possible the recording of the high accuracy picture of (n) times by time compressing (n) kinds of mutually spatially offset video signals by 1/n and recording them at (n) times of relative speed. CONSTITUTION:The video signals S-1, S-2, that are NTSC system field signals obtained simultaneously by image pickup elements 1, 2, are time compressed by a time bass converter by 1/2 after signal processing and are recorded on a magnetic tape through rotary heads A, B. At this time, the heads A, B are revolved at 3,600rpm, that is, twice revolution number so that the magnetic tape is made to travel at the standard mode with the track pitch equal to 1/2. At the reproduction, the reading is executed at the revolution number 3,600rpm of the heads A, B in recording and while tendeding the time with twice by the time base converter pararrel signals corresponding to NTSC are obtd. thereafter the signals S-1, S-2 are obtd. by signal processing part. By this, it is possible to make the twice high accuracy image recording.
