PURPOSE:To enable a speedy and accurate positioning, by providing a crosswise (front- to-back) positioning mechanism having a crosswise position changing-adjusting mechanism for a pusher and also a positioning mechanism capable of absorbing a longitudinal (right-to-left) dimensional error of a matter to be printed within the allowable range. CONSTITUTION:When a matter to be printed is crosswise positioned, the back edge of the matter is moved by a pusher 26 to a front gauge 11 provided on an impression drum 2 so as to freely move up and down to regulate contactness of the front edge thereof so as to keep pressing until the printing to the matter to be printed is started, enabling a positioning of the matter against a printing image to be established with high accuracy. When the matter to be printed is longitudinally positioned, the setting position of side gauges 48a, 48b can be easily changed, resulting in a speedy replacement of arrangement caused by changing the size of the matter to be printed, and also the reference point can be adjusted to finely without changing the setting position as to precisely set the position. Absorption of the longitudinal dimensional error of the matter to be printed within the allowable range by the side gage of the one side, allows the matter to be printed to smoothly passing through.
