PURPOSE:Polyester yarn having high shrinking performance, obtained by using glycol components of 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, ethylene glycol, and 1,4-butane diol in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The titled polyester filament yarn comprising (A) an acid component having >=80mol% terephthalic acid, and (B) glycol components consisting of 0.1-10.0wt% of (i) 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, and 90.0-99.9wt% of (ii) ethylene glycol or (iii) 1,4-butanediol, having >=12% dry heat shrinkage percentage at 5mg/denier load at 180 deg.C, >=150mg/denier maximum stress of dry heat shrinkage stress, and >=100mg/denier dry heat shrinkage stress at 60 deg.C.
