Tensioning between brackets welded e.g. to support beams in a steel building construction is achieved by clevis end turnbuckles, of which the fork ends are secured to the bracket. The connection between support beams includes a bracket (4) welded to a beam or plate. The turnbuckle (3) consists of two threaded rods (5) which are screwed into a tension sleeve (6). The rods other ends are coupled to the shaft of the clevis. The threaded ends of the turnbuckle bars are welded to the forked ends, which are of forged steel.
