<p>Apparatus for setting a fastener of the kind comprising a pin and a tubular member adapted to cooperate with the pin to secure workpieces together upon the application of a relative axial force between the pin and the tubular member, comprises a tubular anvil (26) having a swaging aperture, a tubular collet (34) slidably located within said anvil and having an axial bore (36) terminating at its forward end in a tapered bore portion (42), a plurality of chuck jaws (34) adapted to fit within said tapered bore portion of said collet and each having an inner surface with teeth thereon to grip grooves of the pin and a tubular sleeve (50) slidably disposed in said axial bore (36), said chuck jaws being secured to a forward end of said tubular sleeve, said tubular sleeve and said chuck jaws being free to move axially within said axial bore (36) so that said jaws are radially closed in one position and are in a radially open condition in another position.
