PURPOSE:To execute exactly a dimension measurement of a desired range with regard to a color image in which the boundary line of the constitution is unclear, as well, by correcting two end points for showing a measured range which has been designated and inputted by an operator in order to measure the dimension with regard to a displayed image. CONSTITUTION:An operator confirms a position with nakes eyes and sets it by operating a track ball of a control console 33 with regard to end points A, B whose dimension is measured, regarding a pipe 7 displayed on a picture of a CRT display device 31, therefore, a CPU 25 reads this position information. A density variation state of the vicinity of the end points A, B which have been read is derived by using the density information stored in an image memory, and in case when threshold lines TA, TB have been set by a density profile on a straight line for connecting the end points A, B, X' axis intersection coordinate values X'A, X'B of a density profile line by which a ratio of areas SA1, SB2 of an area which becomes a picture background side and areas SA2, SB2 of an area which becomes the pipe 7 side becomes 1/S, and the threshold line are determined as corrected end points A', B'. In this case, as for the value 1/S of the area ratio, it is determined in advance by using a standard photographed object, etc. |
