PURPOSE:To prevent a fact that a liquid adhere to light emitting and photodetecting elements, a characteristic of a sensor is deteriorated or an element life is shortened, when carrying it, by attaching a transparent plate to the upper face of a cylinder containing the liquid, and placing a light source and the photodetector on the upper part of this transparent plate. CONSTITUTION:A bottom part 41a in a cylinder 41 containing a double layer liquid 44 which is constituted of a liquid 42 such as mercury and a liquid 43 such as an operating oil of an aircraft is constituted in a conical shape having a prescribed apex angle, and a transparent plate 45 consisting of an acryl resin is attached onto the cylinder by an adhesive material. A transparent plate 48 which consists of a transparent material and is provided with a hole 48a into which a photodetector 35 is fitted, in the center part is placed on a ring 47, a cover 49 is placed on said plate, a light source 34 is fitted into a hole 49b of the center upper face, and a hole 49c is made to pass through a terminal of the photodetector 35. Also, the light source 34, the photodetector 35 and the top of the cylinder are placed on a vertical line.
