Fitting double glazing unit in existing door or window frame - on synthetic rubber locating blocks and against spacer blocks, and applying self-polymerising silicone mastic

The unit is placed in the frame on synthetic rubber locating blocks and spacer blocks are interposed between the unit and the flange of the frame. A silicone mastic of the type that polymerises in-situ is applied by air pressure around the entire perimeter between the unit and the frame section and the unit is then supported at a point near the centre of a short side whilst the gap between unit and frame section is sealed from outside using the same mastic. The mastic pref. consists of self-polymerising poly-siloxane, possibly with an accelerator.
