The rotary nibbler has a body (11) with a bearing sleeve (12) having a bearing surface, for a spindle (14) with a groove (18) defining a helical cutting edge. The bearing sleeve also has a flat workpiece engaging face (24). This defines with the axis of rotation an edge which approximates the helix edge (A) of the groove. - The bearing sleeve has a curved surface (27) contiguous with the spindle sidewall and opening to the workpiece engagement face, to define a cutting edge (26) fixed w.r.t. the body and cooperable with the helical cutting edge upon rotation of the spindle.
