AUTOMATIC PAPER FEEDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable sheets to be positively separated one by one and transferred while its tip end is not folded and damaged by providing a sheet stopper which moves to a stop position from an evacuation position when the pressure contact of a separating device is released. CONSTITUTION:A sheet stopper 29 is in No.1 evacuation position which is located on the transfer side of a sheet S rather than the pressure contacting position side while a separating roller 26 is pressing with pressure so as to allow the sheet S to be frictionally separated. Then, when the separating roller 26 is separated from a separating belt 25 while a link 27A and 27B is pulled by a solenoid 28, the tip end 29A of the sheet stopper 29 is pushed by the link 27A allowing it to be rotated clockwise. This allows the sheet stopper to move to No.2 stop position which is located on the side of a sheet setting table rather than the pressure contacting position side. At this stop position, the lower end surface 29B of the sheet stopper 29 holds the tip end of following sheet groups with exception of the sheet S1 preventing them from passing through underneath the separating roller 26.
