PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which gives a joint free from oil leakage, the incorporation of air bubble and an increase in transmission loss when applied to a gap between optical fiber joints, by mixing two organopolysiloxanes and a platinum catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An organopolysiloxane (A) of formula I (wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon; a is 1.8-2.2) contg. a plurality of alkenyl groups per molecule and having an Nd (25 deg.C) of 1.45-1.48, an organopolysiloxane (B) of formula II (wherein R<1> is a monovalent org. group, H; b is 1.5-3) and contg. a plurality of hydrogen atoms attached to a silicon atom, and 0.1-100pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. of the combined quantity of components A and B) platinum catalyst (C) are mixed in a molar ratio of the hydrogen atom attached to the silicon atom of component B to the lower alkenyl group of component A of 0.2:1-5:1 to obtain the titled compsn. having compression modulus of 1X10<-4>-3X10<-1>kg/mm<2> at 25 deg.C after curing. |
