PURPOSE:To enable to control the deceleration of a stepping motor with a simple structure without using a special external sensor such as an encoder by delaying an excitation switching period, reducing the leading angle of a moving unit, and decelerating the unit. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic resistance effect element in a stepping motor 1 is applied as the detecting end of a closed loop circuit through a signal detector 29, a comparator 30 and a pulse generator 31 to a deviation counter 25 as a negative signal. A controller 26 has delay means, and sets the prescribed delay time to a command signal in response to the speed pattern of the acceleration or deceleration of the motor. Accordingly, the motor 1 is excited at a suitable leading angle to the speed in an accelerating range to generate a large torque, and operates a brake force due to a small leading angle in a decelerating range to perform a high speed responsiveness and high positioning accuracy. |
