PURPOSE:To produce a standard cell type LSI with high performance at low cost of development within a short term of delivery by a method wherein macrocells, macrofunction cells, I/O cells and user cells are used. CONSTITUTION:Macrocells are in integer multiple width of the standard grid conforming to specified height and functions with supply line traversing above and below the macrocells as well as Vcc connecting to P channel transistor and N channel transistor respectively at upper and lower parts. Macro function cells define the functions convenient for composing such circuits as those of adder, counter and multiplexer etc. by means of combining the macrocells with one another while defining the connection data only on a library and if arranged on a chip, the macrofunction cells are analyzed per unit of macrocells. The optimum I/O cells are selected as necessary in terms of TTL input, CMOS input or the difference in driving capacity while user cells are made out at the request of users. Through these procedures, an LSI with high performance may be produced at low cost of development. |
