PURPOSE:To subject to be plated to satisfactory sealing without deformation by covering one side of said object with a mask and bringing a pressing member having hollow parts corresponding to the apertures of the mask into press contact with the other side. CONSTITUTION:One side of a lead frame 3 is covered by the mask 1 for plating having the apertures corresponding to the inner leads 3-1 and tabs 3-2 of the frame 3 and the other surface is sealed by the pressing member of which at least the surface is covered by an elastic member. A plating liquid is injected from nozzles 2 to spot-plate the upper inner leads 3-1 and tabs 3-2. The member 4 is constituted by interposing an intermediate plate 4-1 for generating a pressure distribution having the hollow parts 10 corresponding to the apertures of the mask 1 between sponge rubber 4-2 and 4-2. The pressing force onto the tab 3-2 parts is thereby weakened and the deformation thereof is prevented. The satisfactory sealing is thus made possible and the plating quality is improved.
