PURPOSE:To manufacture an alloy with very low oxygen content easily and stably by refining each alloy of Ni base, Co base and Fe base in a vessel made of refractory mainly composed of nitrides. CONSTITUTION:In refining the each alloy of Ni base, Co base and Fe base, the refining is carried out in the vessel having a nitride content of >=70wt% in vacuum or under a nonoxidizing atmosphere; as the nitride, 1 or >=2 kinds among silicon nitride, boron nitride and the like are used. In this way, oxygen content in the molten alloy can be reduced easily and stably to a level as low as <=about 5ppm.
