PURPOSE:To make the vertical movement of a ribbon faster regardless of sizes of the ribbon cassette by providing a ribbon guide bar alone for vertically moving the ribbon, but not for moving the ribbon cassette. CONSTITUTION:A pair of left- and right-handed guide bars 14 are each supported on each bearing 15 in a freeli slidable manner, and a U-shaped ribbon guider 13 is provided to the tip of the bar 14. An ink ribbon 5 pulled out of a ribbon cassette 6 is guided and supported on the guider 13 in a freely slidable manner. During the printing action, the bar 14 is moved upwards by an adequate driver, the guider 13 is moved upwards while moving with the ribbon 5 in a sliding manner, and the ribbon 5 is also moved upwards to a printing position. |
