PURPOSE:To obtain granulated NaNO2 stably in high productivity without lowering granulating ability, by granulating NaNO2 powder in the presence of a specific organic substance and water-insoluble high polymer powder. CONSTITUTION:(A)NaNO2 powder having 20-400 meshes particle size distribution is extruded and granulated by a screw type extrusion granulator in the presence of (B) an organic substance having >=40 deg.C melting point, such as polyethylene glycol having 4,000-20,000 polyethylene glycol or an adduct of 12-22C straight-chain or branched higher alcohol with polyoxyethylene oxide (>=15mol), and (C) water-insoluble high polymer powder passing 100% 60 meshes sieve, such as PVC resin powder having 300-10,000 molecular weight and <=250mu particle size, at 45-90 deg.C, to give a granulated material comprising 20-80wt% component A, 5-30wt% component B, and 1-10wt% component C.
