Vane-type rotary pump having a rotor which is mounted eccentrically to the rotary vanes and, for the passage of the rotary vanes, has rotor slots in which packing strips are arranged bilaterally between which the rotary vanes slide or pivot, said packing strips under the influence of the force of resilient elements bearing on the rotary vanes which, as the rotational speed of the drive increases, exert stronger forces owing to the action of centrifugal force.
