A stationary frame carries a foot board (16) with foot shells (18) fixed thereon, a knee support (26) with one receptacle for each knee, and a pelvis support (28). The pelvis support (28) comprises two pelvis pads (40) which can be pivoted like tongs into an open and a closed position. The foot board (16) is releasably connected to the frame, flaps (68) securing the foot board (16) being accessible also from the wheelchair when the appliance is stationary. The knee support (26) is subdivided into two laterally adjustable knee pads (39) which are moved over a straight or bent rail (32). For the pelvis support (28) there is provided a locking means having a hook (60) on one pelvis pad (40) which grips a pin (62) on the other pelvis pad (40).
